The Osprey Mutant Backpack evolved from extensive testing and is ideal for short alpine adventures or multi-day mountain trips when you are ice climbing or mountaineering. Features a compression molded foam backpanel, removable bivy/seatpad and Z side compression. The Osprey Mutant Backpack includes dual ice ax loops and a fixed hipbelt for added comfort.
This bag is wide, warm, and packed with features. With a 3-dimensional full down collar, a full-length YKK zipper, and 5 inches of loft, the Alpinlite has quickly become one of the most popular bags in Extremelite series. Western Mountaineering’s Alpinlite was designed as the wide version of the award winning Ultralite which has been a favorite among lightweight backpackers for well over a decade. There are many 20 degree down mummy bags on the market, but none have the width, warmth, or loft of this bag.
Well this is a place where I definitely want to go at least once in my life. I saw a video on youtube years ago about this “path of kings” or the Kings walkway.
El Camino del Rey is in Spain, near Álora in the district of Málaga,
I must be honest (mostly with myself), and need to say that I was AFFRAID when I watched the video for the first time! But I watched it again and again and now I want to go there. I know that I will be so afraid that I will be speechless all the way, but I need to overcome all my fears. And I know that after finishing I will be very very very pleased with myself.
Some sort of “know how” on walking in places like this I have, at least the basic, so I am not afraid of the “technical difficulties”. What scares me is the hights the places and the view.
Of course first we need to get in very good shape to to this kind of adventures, and this is why in august we will go to Retezat Mountains here in Romania!
I had no time to update my blog, but I had a lot of adventures lately. Me and boyfriend were at Sonisphere Festival in Bucharest, for 3 days, Heavy Metal concerts, with a lot of bands, and the big four too! And Rammstein. It was fantastic.
We came home and had just 3 days to rest, because next week we went to boyfriends town, and had a small celebration of her sister, we came home and saturday went to a trip. Sunday we went after the dog, and again needed to go to his town again.
It was so complicated, that I need to think when, what where happened.
The trip was fantastic, about 9 hours of pure walking on the hills, I have pictures will get back to this soon.
I am just so happy and thrilled, that after a long period of adventure-less life we managed to have a little bit to much for 10 days
I know, December is far, far away, but slowly we are starting to make the plans for our next trip to Spain. This time, we are a little bit “experienced” (not really ), and we want to go in a way to avoid highways as much as possible.
We realized last time, that relying only on GPS to do this is a very bad idea. Don’t know why, and don’t know how, every time we set up the GPS to avoid tax highways it took us to very strange places. In Spain, we had a map, and it was damn obvious, there is a free highway near the tax one, but still, the GPS didn’t know about it. It was like some conspiracy stuff… like the GPS was programmed to take us to strange places, somehow to scary us and go back to tax highways…
The more bizarre thing was, that with the map in my hand, I set up nearest cities, and in this case the GPS knew about that highway… and directed us to go there. The settings were correct, we only unchecked the “tax highways”, the free ones were checked.
To avoid “waking up” at 2300m, in full winter with some mostly autumn like clothes with us, next time we will go with a Europe Map, so if needed we can follow the road signs, instead of listening to the GPS.
I am already thrilled to make this 2×3000km trip to Spain again
I was sick for more than 2 weeks, and I am still not well 100%. We wanted to go to barbecue with Batdz Maru-s sister and her family, but because of my sickness we couldn’t do that.
Just got a mail yesterday from Badtz Maru with the a few pictures and some description about Setenil de Las Bodegas. I was amazed completely. Setenil de Las Bodegas is simply a crazy place, a must see in my book from now.
This year we will go back to Spain, maybe for a longer time, and if that happens hopefully will find the way to visit this magnificent Spanish tourist destination!
Setenil de Las Bodegas is so bizarre, but beautiful in a way, that I can’t get it out of my head. It is located in the province of Cádiz in Andalucia, Spain. Setenil de Las Bodegas has approximately 3000 inhabitants, who are always welcoming he tourists willing to see their city built on rocks and caves.
Setenil de Las Bodegas is a “pueblo blanco” (meaning white village) set within a huge mountain gorge, that will kill your nerves if you go there by car, because of the very narrow streets and will amaze you if you go by foot.
The uniqueness of Setenil de Las Bodegas consist in the fact that people “have created dwellings by chipping away at the mountain’s base adding an external wall. The village below is moulded along the course of the local river Trejo with houses being built into the mountain.” (wikipedia)
Yes I am happy! After a lot of weekends spent at home or at my parents place, this weekend we on the road again! The silly thing I did is to forget the photo camera at home, so no pictures from this time, only a few made with the phone.
Friday we visited about 8 car parts shops, to search some spear parts for Badtz Maru’s car. We didn’t found any, but at the end we still managed to get what we were looking for here in the city At least we had a 300 kilometer trip, we saw a bunch of nice things and a few idiot drivers too…
Saturday we were driving again, to Badtz Maru’s town, to take home the car parts, and we visited a very nice cute place. I cannot say anything about this cute place for now, but hopefully soon will present you that too!
Sunday we went again to a small trip, to a beautiful place, near Hunyad town, Rechitele village, where is a waterfall. Here again we didn’t made any photos… because we went to see the waterfall on our way back home, when the cell phone’s battery were already dead. So no luck there But at least we were out from the city, and it was awesome.
Well sort of good news… The bad part of this good news is that we are not absolutely sure when we are going to go, the good thing is that we ARE going to go. It’s not a big “adventure” but after a long time of no adventure at all, this is a good thing to happen.
We will visit a nearby town, to search for some thingz to the car. There are a few stores over there, and we need to search for some other things on the road so a good opportunity to go, be away for a day and do something else besides work
It looks like we didn’t had luck with new adventures for a while, and the sad news is that I don’t have idea when will be the next either…For a while, weekends we spent at home, or at our parents place, not really adventures … mostly boring stuff. It makes me sad from time to time, that we really need to work a lot to afford all kinds of adventures, but I don’t give up… there will come sun in our street to one day or another.
Until that, we still have our memories from our last adventure and the hope of the next.
